A message from Bridgewater Mayor Matthew Moench
“This year’s campaign for County Chair has taken an unnecessary and nasty turn. Tracy and her lobbyist handlers have abandoned pretending she has a plan for winning elections against Democrats and instead, she and her puppet masters have focused on doing what they do best - tearing down Republicans.
In Bridgewater, we’re no stranger to this. Had Tracy’s biggest supporter, Tim’s predecessor, not wasted a quarter million dollars attacking a Republican in the 2019 primary, that money could have saved the Republican county majority when Pat Walsh lost by just 856 votes, or 0.8%.
On the same day Tim emailed you a detailed strategy on defeating Democrats, Tim’s opponent sent a message attacking Bridgewater Republican leadership using the same attacks used by Bridgewater Democrats in last year’s election. Of course, this is not surprising since Tim’s opponent’s managers funded the Bridgewater Democrats’ 2023 campaign (click here to see their $180K Democrat donations).
In the latest hit piece, Tim’s opponent went after an accomplished female jurist, suggesting she should not be fairly compensated commensurate with male counterparts, and went after my sister, Chairwoman Megan Moench, who has spent 20 years building her political career and her own business - from Congressman Frelinghuysen’s office to Jack Ciattarelli’s 2021 gubernatorial campaign to her own successful business helping to raise money for Republican candidates and county parties across the state.
Chairman Howes is trying to build the Republican Party lost under the prior leadership. Myself, our Chairwoman Megan Moench, and all of our elected officials and executive board members wholeheartedly support Tim Howes and reject the style of character assassination politics which has consistently failed to win elections under the prior leadership.”
